Throughout 2024, the multidisciplinary engineering and consulting companies NIER Ingegneria Spa Società Benefit (SB) and Techfem Spa have combined their expertise to support the achievement of NetZero2050.
Both companies have a clear vision regarding energy transition goals, which has materialized in the creation of the DONE (Decarbonization Objectives through Nuclear Engineering) business network.
DONE’s mission is to become a new benchmark for accelerating the decarbonization of the energy system through the use of sustainable nuclear energy.
From now on, the partnership between NIER and Techfem is committed to reaching 2050 and saying: “DONE – achieved!”
A well-defined goal to pursue with an integrated portfolio of engineering and experimental plant services to provide the nuclear fission industry with ready-to-use solutions, speeding up the development and adoption of new technologies.
DONE can support companies, government or international agencies, research institutions, contractors, and decommissioning firms in the following areas:

- Design of experimental facilities (Proof of Concept, Pilot Plants, Small- and Large-Scale Plants) aimed at testing new-generation nuclear fission technologies;

NIER Ingegneria Spa SB has been involved in systems and nuclear engineering for nearly 50 years, building its experience over time and through international projects. The multiservice company, headquartered in Castel Maggiore (BO), has over 210 employees, more than 500 clients, and additional offices in Naples and Milan.
Techfem, an engineering company active for over 40 years, is a leader in the energy sector. With offices in Fano, Lamezia Terme, Turin, and Bologna, as well as in Albania and Greece, it provides services in design, R&D, Project Management, precommissioning and commissioning. With a team of 400 professionals, it also operates as an EPC contractor in innovative fields such as hydrogen and CO2 capture.
