The contract for the offshore pre-commissioning of sealine between the platforms Clara NW and Calipso (owned by Eni S.p.A.) has been awarded by Saipem S.p.A. to Techfem S.p.A. Latest January 26th, 2016. Techfem succeeded by means of its proposal on oil&gas operators such as Halliburton and Baker & Hughes.
The ND 12”sealine is 13,1 km long and is installed at 75 meters and the operation service has been organized in two phases:
- Intermediate: test only on the submerged trunk of the sealine
- Final: test on the entire sealine, from platform to platform.
Because of rather adverse weather conditions, sea force 8 waves of 6 meters the wind at 60 knots, the pre-commissioning operations have been started on March the 30th and have been successfully concluded on April the 14th.
