AbuQir NAQ P-III De-Commissioning

AbuQir NAQ P-III De-Commissioning

Last May 27th 2016, Techfem S.p.A. was awarded by the new Singaporean client EMAS AMC the de-commissioning contract of an offshore subsea existing bypass spool, to allow the installation of the riser relevant to the new platform NAQ P-III owned by Abu Qir Petroleum Company (joint venture between Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation and Edison).

Once again Techfem has beat fierce competition, including major companies of the oil & gas Precommissioning services.

The de-commissioning was a complete service, including engineering, procurement of special materials to be used for the work, HIRA meeting in Company offices, transport installation and function testing onboard Lewek Toucan Diving Support Vessel, flooding and flushing operations for de-oiling including recovery of oil by means of anti-pollution barriers and absorbent sheets, pressure test before spool removal to verify integrity of subsea spool sectioning valves, demobilization.

All materials/equipment used in the project are owned by Techfem S.p.A. and have been mobilized containerized by sea freight to Limassol (Cyprus) port.

After several changes of order, works delays not attributable to us and the usual unfavorable weather conditions, the operations have been successfully completed December 29th 2016 with the safe homecoming of all personnel and equipment to the Techfem’s headquarters in Via Toniolo 1d.
